The experiment of the old men was most interesting. Most people attribute lost of memory to aging. Now I am thinking, am I remembering less because of aging or am I just accepting the stereotype that with age comes lost memories. I found the latter is what most people believe in. As with the experiment of the old men, and so we are programing ourselves to remember less things.

Marelisa, I loved this post. I have heard about the experiment with the old men before and it is very inspiring and makes you realise how important it is to stay engaged in life. But the effect of mindfulness on creative projects is fascinating. I think it shows how much the energy we project is transferred to others, even through our paintings. I actually thought of this in the context of writing not long ago. Someone asked me how I could be such a fan of the Twilight books since the writing is really quite average and as a writer, this should bother me. I explained to my friend that the author's passion for her characters and her story is what elevates this book. There is an energy about them that makes it very easy for me to believe that Stephanie Meyers was completely INSIDE her story. There was no divide. She was there in the moment the whole way and you feel that when you're reading and I believe this is what has made the book a best seller.

Anyway, loved this post. It really resonated with me at the moment. Thanks.

The next time somebody tells me to "Act your age!" I will say "no you act my age!". Then explain to them how many ailments and perspectives are solely based on ones own thoughts and mindlessness! Great post!
