Mare,
I love this post! There is so much inspiration in the words shared, and that all helps me to remember to “go for it” in life…

2 Heather December 18, 2009 at 5:36 am

Love it! What a great post to head into a year with.

Hi Marelisa.

#19 is a cool one because life only begins when we actually begin it, and not by itself. It is like having the parts of a sandwich, and we have to put it together.

#32 reminds us that courage is the only thing separating us from things we think are amazing. It isn't what we have, or some person we know, but the courage to step another step out. The few times I have done this, my mind has seen bigger possibilities from that point forward.

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” I love this one. It captures the essence of adventure and risk taking.

Hi Lance: I'm writing an ebook on how to create and achieve your bucket list and these are some of the quotes I'm going to include in there. :-)

7 Marelisa December 18, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Hi Heather: Thank you; it is meant to be a “get your year started right” post. :-)

8 Marelisa December 18, 2009 at 3:25 pm

Hi Armen: I like the analysis you made of those two quotes. It is about courage and about getting started. :-)

9 Marelisa December 18, 2009 at 3:26 pm

Hi Vered: Children are experts at this. :-) My two year old nephew doesn't know how to swim yet, but he loves pools. Whenever he sees one he just starts running toward it fully intending to jump in, and my sister has to chase after him.

Great quotes. Once we start living adventurous life, we will be able to attract happiness and joy.

18 HenryD December 21, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Inspirational set of quotes. My favorite right now is TS Eliot with “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go”. It's all too easy to just settle for 'the norm' in live and get stuck in a rut. Some of our friends are off round the world for 3 months backpacking with 2 children under 4 which makes me think we should do something similar. You never know what's round the corner so I'm hoping to make 2010 a little more 'adventurous'.

Love it….especially “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” — T.S Eliot

Thanks for posting!

20 Karl Staib - Work Happy Now December 23, 2009 at 2:04 am

Too often we forget the simple idea of Carpe Diem. Today is the last time we will have this day so lets make the most of it.

My favorite was 21. “It’s not an adventure if there are no dragons.” Sarah Ban Breathnach. The pain is just as enjoyable as the joy if we have enough time to reflect on the situation.

Nice quotes!

Here's one of my personal favorites:

“Life's not a spectator sport”
