Having worked in a number of creative/problem solving roles, I have seen time and again, both in myself and others, that if a manager taps into the intrinsic needs of an employee and gives them the freedom and autonomy to do a job their way, the results are always better and the employee will be happier, more satisfied and more open to taking on greater challenges for the firm.
