SuperBrain Yoga is a scientifically validated method that will help you energize your brain and enhance its sharpness and clarity. It’s a simple technique developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui which increases intellectual capacity and sharpens both memory and concentration.
This practice is based on the principles of subtle energy and ear acupuncture. Basically, SuperBrain Yoga allows energy from your lower chakras–or energy centers–to move up to the forehead and crown chakras. When this happens, this energy is transformed into subtle energy, which is utilized by the brain to enhance its proper functioning.
In addition, the simple move you’ll learn in this article–which is illustrated in the image at the top of this blog post–boosts brain function by stimulating acupressure points on the earlobes, according to Yale-trained neurobiologist Eugenius Ang, Ph.D.
Here are some of the benefits of SuperBrain Yoga:
1. It energizes and activates the brain by synchronizing Alpha brain waves.
2. It reduces psychological stress and improves psychological stability.
3. It results in greater intelligence and creativity.
4. It promotes proper functioning of the brain.
Best of all, SuperBrain Yoga is really easy to learn and you can do it in just three minutes a day. Just read on.
(Disclaimer: This is a very simple exercise, but please remember that you’re doing it at your own risk.)
SuperBrain Yoga on CBS News
Alzheimer’s patients, senior citizens looking to stave off memory loss, and kids in classrooms are among those who say that doing SuperBrain Yoga is making them smarter.
Here’s a news clip from CBS News in which SuperBrain Yoga is discussed by doctors who prescribe SuperBrain Yoga to their patients, and teachers who guide their students through a session of SuperBrain Yoga every morning before starting class:
How to Practice Super Brain Yoga: Step-by-Step Instructions
Ideally, this exercise should be done in the morning. Follow these seven steps:
1. Remove all jewelry and stand up straight.
2. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth right behind your teeth (as if you were about to say “La”). Leave it there throughout the exercise.
3. Take your left hand and grab hold of your right earlobe. Make sure that the thumb is in front.
4. Now take your right hand and grab hold of your left earlobe. Again, make sure that the thumb is in front. At this point you’re pressing both earlobes simultaneously. Make sure your left arm is close to your chest and inside your right arm.
5. Inhale through your nose and slowly squat down to the ground.
6. Hold your breath and do not exhale until you start making your way back up to a standing position.
7. Repeat this squatting action between 15 and 21 times.Remember to keep a hold of your earlobes and to keep your tongue touching the roof of your mouth throughout the entire exercise.
You can watch how this is done in the video below (and if you want more information you can get the “SuperBrain Yoga” book). Please note that the woman in the video makes a mistake when she says when to breathe in and when to breathe out. As the text instructions above explain, you breathe in on the way down and you breathe out on the way up:

Hi Hilary: It looks like it might be complicated at first, but it’s actually something very simple and easy to do.
I wasn’t familiar with this type of yoga, although I obviously know about yoga in general. Thanks for the introduction!

Hi Vered: You’re welcome.
Hi Marelisa, somehow I could see you just playing this big joke on me and making me do this, video tape it, and put it online LOL.
Seriously though, this sounds interesting. With 2 young ones running around, I’ll try anything.
Hi John: That’s funny, when I tried to show my sister how to do EFT (emotional freedom technique) she thought I was pulling her leg. I guess these techniques are kind of strange looking, but, as long as they work . . .
Hi Marelisa! OK, this is weird but whatever works I’m all for it!

Hi Stephen: My sentiments exactly: it can be weird, as long as it works.
Wow what a great idea! I have become interested in yoga and meditation recently, however I never considered mind-yoga.
I think it sounds like a great way to focus yourself in the morning and get your brain in the right frame of mind to start the day.
Will try this tomorrow morning!

Hi Alice: I see you have an adventurous spirit, that’s great! Remember that you have to do it consistently at least for a couple of weeks before you start to see results.
Hi Mare,
Okay, so I’m with Stephen on this one – it seems weird….but I had to try it. And it really is simple to do. And hey, if it helps my creativity, then it’s not weird at all! So, I’ll give it a shot over the next couple of weeks….

Hi Lance: You’re awesome! You play along even when I put seemingly “weird” stuff on my blog.
I am going to see if I can get my children to do this with me in the morning…I fear dimetia, and my kids could always use a little boost…
Thanks, and I’ll let you know how it works for us.

Hi Dawn: I’m going to try it out on my little nephews.
I think this looks cool…and the fact that it’s quick and easy to do is just a bonus.
.-= Lori´s last blog ..Embracing One’s Aloneness =-.
Hi Lori: It is easy to do, and at the very least you’re doing some squats and stretching a bit after getting out of bed.
Love it! Showed it to the hubby. There is a weird sense of calm that comes along with it.

Hi Elaine: It is calming. I think it’s because the ears, like the soles of the feet, are connected to the entire body.
Hi Marelisa,
Like many others commented, I hadn’t seen this yoga technique before. I’ll be back to check out the videos and give it a try. Brain recharging sounds like something I can use on a regular basis.
.-= Barbara Swafford´s last blog ..Who Are They To Say =-.
Hi Barbara: The technique is very, very simple. I’ve been doing it, it’s easy to do.
she is doing it wrong breathe in on the way down and out on the way up–get it right please
Hi Al: Although you’re right that in the bottom video the woman says to breathe out on the way down and breathe in on the way up, if you’ll notice, the instructions I provide in the text portion of this post say the following:
5. Inhale through your nose and slowly squat down to the ground.
6. Hold your breath and do not exhale until you start making your way back up to a standing position.
Al: I added the following to the blog post so that people don’t get confused:
Please note that the woman in the video makes a mistake when she says when to breathe in and when to breathe out. As the text instructions above explain, you breathe in on the way down and you breathe out on the way up.
Can’t they fix the video when the inhale/exhale instructions are confused? Dub it, perhaps?

Hi Marelisa,
Very interesting. This is the way Hindus here in India have been paying their respects to Lord Ganesha, the elephant faced god. They stand at the sanctum sanctorum facing the deity sideways (they do not stand face to face with the deity) and hold their earlobes, right hand holding the left lobe and vice versa. Then they squat and get up for maybe two to three times. This has been an age old practice.

Hi Mare,
You have such a lovely and innocent smile, can you please explain why there are so many that warns people to not get involved in Yoga out of personal experience.
Many say that yoga involves the spiritual realm and say that spirits can enter your life through practicing yoga, especially the meditation part?
Thank you….
Hi Hawk: I’ve only heard and experienced positive things with yoga.
Hi Mare,
Thanks for you reply, may I ask if you can tell me if yoga is spiritual or not?
Thanks
Hi Hawk: I suppose that for some people yoga has spiritual connotations, but not for everyone. For me it doesn’t.
The written instructions above the video are the opposite of those given in the video.
Hi Jos: Follow the written instructions; as I point out in the blog post, the instructions in the video are wrong. The reason I included the video was so people could see what the movement up and down looks like. I’m trying to find a different video that has the right movement–like this one does–but that also has the right instructions. Take care, Marelisa
