As promised, here’s the step-by-step tutorial that will show you how to write, publish and market your ebook, in ebook form (it’s a free ebook, so go ahead and download it right away):
“Step-by-Step Tutorial: Write, Publish and Market Your Ebook”.
It’s a .PDF file which you can easily open by downloading Adobe Reader (free download).
Here’s some of the information you’ll find inside:
- Five Effective Techniques to Brainstorm a List of Topics You’ll be Passionate to Write About
- Tips to Apply When Assessing Your Competition
- How to Create a Fabulous Table of Contents
- Advice on How to Write and Edit Your Ebook
- Tips on Choosing Your Ebook’s Title and Subtitle
- Information on Creating Your Ebook’s Cover Page, Getting a Shopping Cart, Pricing Your Ebook, and More
Create a Schedule for Writing, Publishing, and Marketing Your Ebook
Instead of simply leaving “write ebook” as an open-ended project on your to-do list, create a detailed timeline. For example, you can set a thirty-day deadline by which you want your ebook to be up on your site. You need to set a deadline for each of the steps outlined in “Step-by-Step Tutorial: Write, Publish and Market Your Ebook”, including the date by which each chapter will be completed when you’re in the writing stage. Then make sure that you set a specific time slot in your daily calendar to devote to your ebook.
By setting up specific work times on your calendar you’ll help ensure that you meet your deadline and are able to complete your ebook in thirty days (or in the timeframe you’ve established). I hope this free ebook will help you to create a schedule for yourself so that you can get your ebook out there!

Truly amazing. Talk about walking the talk by providing this wonderful resource without the typical upfront need to provide an email address to get a free copy. You truly have an abundance mentality and I am sure you will be rewarded many times over.
Hi Positively Present: You’re most welcome.
I hope that it does help you with your ebook.
Hi Vered: I saw your tweet, thank you.
Hi Mike: I initially pulled that information together while I was writing my first ebook and I thought I’d pass it along.
I just read it and it’s very thorough! I especially like how you include how to use your blog to do research.
Hi Daryl: Great, glad you found something you can apply.
Thanks Mares
I’m slow on the work front at present, which is okay as it leaves mote time for family and fiction. But it has me thinking about various possibilities for making money long term, so I’m going to read this and give it some serious thought. It’s not as if I haven’t thought about writing an e-book before, but I always come back to the fact that I have no idea what to write about But surely I’ve got some knowledge worth imparting!

Hi Mare – Thank you. I’m so glad you did this. Your step by step tutorial was awesome but very long – it will be much easier to access all the information in an ebook.
Hi Kelly: Sometimes what you know is so obvious to you that you don’t even think of it as something special that others would want to know. Sit down and brainstorm at least 100 things you could write about using the brainstorming suggestions in the ebook as a guideline. Specially near the end you’ll probably start coming up with some good stuff. Another possibility is to choose something you currently wish you knew more about but don’t, and learn as much as you can about the subject matter. I didn’t know how to write an ebook until recently.
Hi Cath: It was too long. I hope I didn’t put off too many of my e-mail subscribers.
Hi Marelisa,
What a wonderful resource. Thank you.
Just like you said, I have “write an ebook” on my list. Your post is a good reminder I need to give myself a deadline.

Just what I needed. I think marketing my ebook will be the hardest part. There are so many good ebooks out there, but the ones that thrive are talked about by a ton of people.
I’m going to go read the marketing section right now.
