“Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”
– Jack Benny
Today, May 2nd, I turn thirty-eight years old. At the same time, “Abundance Blog at Marelisa Online” turns one; (even though I published a few posts in April of last year, I consider my blog post “12 Tips for Having a Happy Birthday” –which I published on May 2, 2008– to have been my first official blog post).
I have to say that starting this blog is one of the best things I’ve done. I now have a great creative outlet, I’ve learned lots of new things through the research I’ve done to write my blog posts, I’ve met a lot of fabulous people in the blogosphere (most of whom I wish I knew in “real” life), and I’ve even made some money.
Here are what I consider to be the best blog posts I’ve written so far:
Productivity
- Six Tips to Make Ideas Happen
- How to Leverage the Power of Focus
- The 25-50-25 Rule for Getting Things Done
- Productivity Tip: Think Small
- Six Ways To Do Less and Achieve More
- Zen Capitalism: Randy Komisar
Creativity
- Lateral Thinking: Think Out-of-the-Box
- Creative Thinking Techniques: The “Playful” Edition
- 18 Ways to be Uber Creative
- Three Incredibly Effective Creative Thinking Techniques
- Four Outstanding Thoughts on Innovation
- Creating in the Dark – Your Sacred Dance
Simplicity
- 100 Tips to Simplify Your Life
- 27 Simple Ways to Simplify Your Life
- 100 Essential Life Lessons
- 10 Ways to Have a Zen-Like Day
- 10 Snazzy Ideas on Simplicity
In addition, here are three blog posts which I wrote when I first got started blogging which I’m very proud of:
Major Milestones
I consider the following to be the major milestones I’ve achieved during my first year of blogging:
- I have over 1,000 subscribers.
- I’ve written over 140 blog posts.
- I was admitted into the 9 Rules Network.
- I wrote an ebook: “How to Be More Creative – A Handbook for Alchemists”. (Chris Edgar from “Purpose Power Coaching” interviewed me about my ebook last Thursday and he just published the interview on his blog. You can listen to the 19 minute interview here.)
Thank You
Thank you very much for stopping by and reading my thoughts, ramblings, and musings.
It is my sincere wish to have contributed to your creativity, productivity, and happiness in some small way during this past year; I know that writing these blog posts has definitely helped to improve my life. I’ll see you on Year Two of “Abundance Blog at Marelisa Online”.

My ebook “How to Be More Creative – A Handbook for Alchemists” explains that creativity is not the sole domain of the arts but is important in any field. Whatever you do, creativity helps you do it better. Discover practical advice on how to be more creative in every life endeavor by reading my ebook.
The Sedona Method is a simple, powerful, easy-to-learn technique that shows you how to let go of any negative, unwanted or painful feelings you may be experiencing at any particular moment. It consists of a series of questions you ask yourself that lead your awareness to focus on what you’re feeling in the moment and gently guide you toward letting it go. Happy birthday and congratulations on all the success you have had with this blog. And it has been a lot.
I’m looking forward to where your blog is heading. One nice thing about your blog is you often include a lot of outside information, which I think is generally lacking in the blogosphere.
Hi Marelisa,
I too, wish to know you in person.
Your creativity and passion is an inspiration and something that I
strongly identify with.
May you and blog grow stronger and stronger as you
both make this world a better place to be.
Happy birthday.

Oh Mare – Happy Birthday to you and Happy Birthday to your blog! It’s funny how so many bloggers I have met are the same age as you – Vered and Kelly come to mind, but I think there are others. And your blog is almost the same age as mine – my first few posts were backdated because of the rigmarole with hosts – I thought he or she was older than mine! You have done so well – congratulations!
