“Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”
– Jack Benny
Today, May 2nd, I turn thirty-eight years old. At the same time, “Abundance Blog at Marelisa Online” turns one; (even though I published a few posts in April of last year, I consider my blog post “12 Tips for Having a Happy Birthday” –which I published on May 2, 2008– to have been my first official blog post).
I have to say that starting this blog is one of the best things I’ve done. I now have a great creative outlet, I’ve learned lots of new things through the research I’ve done to write my blog posts, I’ve met a lot of fabulous people in the blogosphere (most of whom I wish I knew in “real” life), and I’ve even made some money.
Here are what I consider to be the best blog posts I’ve written so far:
Productivity
- Six Tips to Make Ideas Happen
- How to Leverage the Power of Focus
- The 25-50-25 Rule for Getting Things Done
- Productivity Tip: Think Small
- Six Ways To Do Less and Achieve More
- Zen Capitalism: Randy Komisar
Creativity
- Lateral Thinking: Think Out-of-the-Box
- Creative Thinking Techniques: The “Playful” Edition

- Three Incredibly Effective Creative Thinking Techniques

In addition, here are three blog posts which I wrote when I first got started blogging which I’m very proud of:
Major Milestones
I consider the following to be the major milestones I’ve achieved during my first year of blogging:
- I have over 1,000 subscribers.
- I’ve written over 140 blog posts.
- I was admitted into the 9 Rules Network.
- I wrote an ebook: “How to Be More Creative – A Handbook for Alchemists”. (Chris Edgar from “Purpose Power Coaching” interviewed me about my ebook last Thursday and he just published the interview on his blog. You can listen to the 19 minute interview here.)

The Sedona Method is a simple, powerful, easy-to-learn technique that shows you how to let go of any negative, unwanted or painful feelings you may be experiencing at any particular moment. It consists of a series of questions you ask yourself that lead your awareness to focus on what you’re feeling in the moment and gently guide you toward letting it go.
